Our Mission in Education

We desire to fill a need for a better school system in our Province of Takeo, Cambodia. To better educate the children at A Greater Hope Orphanage is our first goal, educating the surrounding the children is our second goal, changing our community and country final goal. Our teaching starts with understanding that "Fearing the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, only fools despise wisdom and discipline". "Then you will understand what is Right and Just and Fair". "For Wisdom will enter your heart".

We'll strive for a pure teaching with high moral standards that will give our children A HEART FOR WISDOM

purchasing supplies

We are looking at buying school desks for the next school year.  We are thinking of ordering from China because it is close and cheap, but trust is a issue.  We have been looking to order maybe from a website Alibaba.com that has numerous companies with good looking cheap desks.
Anyone have advice or even a contact?
Anyone want to help cover the cost?

logo?

Thoughts for a logo.

The name of our school comes from Proverbs 2:10.
A Heart For Wisdom

The idea for this logo is the Calvary Dove which represents our church and can represent wisdom.
The heart obviously represents love.
Colors Red and Blue are the Cambodian national colors.
Centered is a likeness of Angkor Wat which Cambodia well known for.

Have another though let us know.  Can you do a better job with it.
I am using basic windows paint.
 
Also we are looking for a mascot our current idea is a Khmer Warrior riding a battle elephant with a light comic type veiw.

Community Survey

How is our community survey shaping up?
Quite well.  
We are having a very good response from the families.  
They are telling us they are tired of their 4th ad 5th graders not knowing how to read or write.

We've been told if we had classes right now they would send their kids. We know there is a need and the parents are willing to send and pay.

Now we will be looking for teachers.  We have 2 possibly 3 more.  
Please pray we get great teachers and that the families that say yes actually mean yes.  

We are getting closer and moving forward. 

We are looking at ordering desk from China and preparing some of the rooms available to us at the church.
We are looking for teacher support.
We are looking for funds to prepare the class rooms.
I'd really like to start a basic meal program as well but that would need to be funded as well.
     We know a lot of kids miss school because they have to look for food.  We'd like to prevent that.
Also there are a lot of families over a hundred that can not send children because they can not afford it.  We would like to accept a child rich or poor, but we would need help with scholarships funding program.
